Julio A. Mendez

Julio A. Mendez, 64, of Monroe died Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties. He was born in San Salvador, El Salvador on April 12, 1950 to parents Jose & Martha (Rosales) Mendez.

Julio worked for the United States Postal Service in the Dayton office, retiring in 2012 after 21 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Clara Mendez; daughter, Natalia Mendez (fiance, Chris Schofield); brothers, Alvaro Mendez & Eduardo (Victoria) Mendez; brother-in-law, Eduardo (Carmen) Amaya; aunts, Vilma (Bill) Roberts & Angie (Joe) Kolar; niece & nephews, Adriana (Richard) Inman, Louis (Abbie) Amaya & Mario (Cindy) Amaya; and great nieces & nephews, Daniel Inman, Nicholas & Gabrielle Amaya and Alyssa, Jaqueline & Sophia Amaya.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 330 Lebanon St., Monroe, with Father Stephen Lattner O.S.B. as celebrant.
