Karen I. Helter

March 9, 1939 — May 19, 2019

Our beloved Mom, Sister, Grandma and Great Grandma Karen I. Helter, born on March 9, 1939, went peacefully to Heaven at Ohio's Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties on Sunday, May 19, 2019. When she got to Heaven she was greeted by her parents, Harold and Alice Barker; brothers, Popeye and Richard; sisters, Patricia, Barb, Sandy and Bev; the girls - twin grandchildren, Cameron and Zac; and son-in-law, Jon Frasher.

Our Mom stood for Faith in God, Family and Friends - always. She never knew a stranger and was "like a mom and grandma" to so many over the years. And please know she loved you all. Our family holiday gatherings prepared by Mom are legendary, so much more food than you could ever imagine.

For the past 36 years she has assisted dear Dr. Kathy Youtsler as a Chiropractic Therapist at the Monroe Chiropractic Center. Many of you know her for that magic wand of hers and the healing powers of spinal adjustments by Dr. Kathy and Mom's wand - what a dream team! But it wasn't just that magic healing wand of hers that made the patients feel better and get well; it was her kind, gentle and accepting soul; listening, sharing stories, offering advice and of course talking sports all the while explaining everything she was doing and you knew you were well cared for.

And speaking of teams - Mom was a sports enthusiast to say the least. She could talk sports with the best of them and often did so while using that magic wand of hers; but you better have been for her team or watch out (LOL mom). She knew all the stats, watched every game, knew all the player's names especially her favorites like the Cleveland Browns. She is hoping that the upcoming 2019 season will be their big year --- so if you could root for the Browns you might gain yourself some points in Heaven. I'm sure she is one of God's favorites - I know she is ours. She loved the Reds and of course the OSU Buckeyes. Go Bucks!

Karen will be greatly missed by her one very loved son, Albert O. Helter Jr.; four beautiful daughters (hey Jan too), Janice Rabold, Denise Schoenberger, Lori Carter and Susan Frasher; many loved grandchildren, Jason & Shannon, Erica & Randall, Candi & Jeremy, Toni, Adam, Shelby, Karen & Andy, Tommy, Josh, Jessie & Jay, Dustin & Marilyn, Jaime, Lauren, Tyler, Danielle & Sammy Joe; precious great grandchildren, Christopher, Alec, Sierra, Dordy, Logan, Lilly, Evan, Kylie, Cody, T.J., Kadin, Christian, Jordan, Parker, Xander, Stella & Kellan; and one great great grandchild, Matthew. Karen's brother, Gene and sister, June are all that remain of the nine brothers and sisters.

Funeral Service will be Friday, May 24, 2019 at 11:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd, Middletown, with Reverend Bob Burns officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00 -8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mound Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio's Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties, 5940 Long Meadow Dr.Middletown, Ohio 45005.
