Kathleen (Shelton) Brown Olds

Mrs. Kathleen (Shelton) Brown Olds of Middletown, Ohio passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at the age of 85.

She was born to parents Samuel Noble and Elizabeth Priscilla (Brooks) Shelton on June 8, 1930 in Peebles County, Ohio. The youngest girl of four daughters and second youngest of twelve siblings.

She is survived by her daughter, Avondelee (Brown) LaFrance of Porter, Texas and her son, James Dean Brown of Middletown, Ohio; five grandsons, six great grandsons; one great granddaughter; and one great-great grandson.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Jean Poplin; her parents; and her siblings, Maud, Glenn, Kenneth, Robert, Eunice, Rollie, Homer, John, Lena Mae, Dean and Andrew.

The following is the last stanza of a poem written by Kathleen about her mother Lizzie at her passing and one way to remember her: "Oh, God, be kind to her. Help me, like her, To draw my strength from You, so full and free. Help me remember well the words she taught, And be strong like this mother you gave me."

Her remains will be cremated and no services are planned.
