Kenneth Joseph Angel

Kenneth Joseph Angel, 64, of Middletown, died Monday, July 16, 2007, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Middletown, on March 24, 1943 to William T. and Irene F. (Spisak) Angel.

Ken attended Bellarmine College, then joined the United States Navy, where he received medals and commendations for his work in photographic intelligence in Vietnam. Upon discharge he began a 25 year career as a trust / investment officer with local banks, and retired from Johnson Controls. He was active in community affairs, having served on various boards and committees.

Mr. Angel is survived by his wife of 37 years, Beverly L. (Smith) Angel; daughters, Janice (Stephen) Kaup and Julie Angel; son, Kenneth (Natalie) Angel Jr.; a brother, Douglas Angel; two sisters, Martha (Miles) Vance and Barbara (James) VonderHaar; brother-in-law, John Slifer Sr.; sisters-in-law, Joy Smith and April Slifer; mother-in-law, Frances Slifer; two granddaughters, Cecelia Kaup and Mia Angel.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 20, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Parish - Holy Trinity Church with Father George Klein as celebrant. Visitation will be Thursday, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
