Larry A. Chambers, 70, of Middletown, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at Atrium Medical Center. He was born in North Middletown, Kentucky on September 10, 1937.
Larry worked as a maintenance foreman for Armco Steel Corp., retiring in 1993 after 36 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Mr. Chambers is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Newton) Chambers; two daughters, Becky Beckett and Tammy (Gary) Berkhouse; two sons, Jeff Davis and Linny Davis; his mother, Helene (McKinney) Carpenter; step mother, Kathryn Chambers; eight grandchildren, Amy Davis, Ashly Davis, T.J. (Ashley) Davis, Brandon Davis, Heather (Eric) Turner, Joey Berkhouse, Jonny Berkhouse, and Nicholas Davis; and four great grandchildren, Jeffrey Mock, Josh Mock, Clayton Davis, and Ashland Davis.
He was preceded in death by his son, Tim Davis; father, King David Chambers; and brother, Jerry Chambers
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 10:00 AM at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.) with Pastor Vernon Risner officiating. Visitation will be Friday, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
