Larry Day, 71, of Franklin, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Atrium Medical Center. He was born in Hazard, Kentucky on October 31, 1951 to parents, William Irvin and Bobbie Jean (Greer) Day.
Larry worked as a steam engineer for AK Steel. He was a huge sports fan, who in addition to watching games, enjoyed coaching baseball, playing softball with the Clayton Street Church of God, playing golf, and spending time practicing sports with his kids. He was also a Boy Scout Leader. Larry was a man of strong faith. When attending Harlan Park Church of God, he was a member of the Church Council, served as an usher and a Sunday School teacher. He also assisted with the Bus Ministry at Harlan Park.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Jane (Brown) Day; children, Andy Day & Kelly Day; sister-in-law, Karen Day; nieces, Elizabeth (Jeff) Bour, Melissa (Steve) England, Amy Day, Carrie (Joe) Brady & Julie (Chad) Helton; great nieces & nephews, Kyle (Ashley Hall) England, Tanner (Taryn) England, Sara (Josh) Gay, Kaitlin Goodwin, Isaiah & Reagan Brady and Magnolia Helton; great great nieces & nephews, Kaylee, Kaycen & Remi England, Madelyn & Avery Gay, and Mason & Emma Goodwin; and cousins, Paul Wayne Day, Larry Steve Day, Danny Day, Vicky Ashley and their families.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his sisters, Marilyn Johnson & June Day; and his brother, Gary Day.
Memorial Services will be held Sunday, April 2, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at Stratford Heights Church of God, 4419 Nelson Rd., Middletown with Pastor Ray Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the church.
