Lenora Housh, 92, formerly of Monroe, died Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Bickford Assisted Living. She was born in Middletown on August 7, 1924 to parents Ernest Y. and Carmie L. (Fugett) Witt.
Lenora was a 1942 graduate of Monroe High School, where she was valedictorian. Over the years she worked as an administrative assistant for Monroe Heating & Air, Black Clawson and Wright Patterson Air Force Base. She was a 67 year member of Monroe United Methodist Church, which she joined in 1950. Lenora had been a lifelong resident of Monroe and was very active in many community organizations.
Mrs. Housh is survived by her sons, Richard (Jennifer) Housh, Michael (Theresa) Housh & William "Ez" (Lynn) Housh III; eleven grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren. She is now being reunited with her high school sweetheart who she married in 1944, William McKinley Housh Jr.; her son, Gerald Lee Housh; parents; brothers, Ernie Witt & Kenny Witt; and sisters, Martha Linkous & Donna Hopkins.
Funeral Service will be held Sunday, April 30, 2017 at 3:30 pm at Monroe United Methodist Church, 206 East Ave., Monroe with Pastor Joel Harbarger officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:30 - 3:30 pm at the church. Interment will be at North Monroe Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Memorial Garden at Monroe United Methodist Church, 206 East Ave., Monroe, Ohio 45050.
