Loren J. Wells, 98, of Middletown, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 12, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born in Kentucky on July 8, 1924 to parents, John and Stella (Nichols) Wells.
Loren had worked as an inspector for Armco Steel Corp, retiring after 41 years with the company. He served as a medic in the United States Army during World War II. Even though Loren's life led him to move, Kentucky still held a very special place in his heart. He loved to fox hunt and enjoyed doing yard work and gardening.
Loren had a kind soul and was always willing to help everyone. He will be greatly missed by his devoted wife of 20 years, Barbara J. (Kirk) Wells; son, Daniel Wayne (Kerry) Wells; daughter, Lorna (Darrell) Tucker; sister, Linda Cole; sister-in-law, Addie Wells; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years, Maxine (Coffey) Wells; son, Loren David Wells; parents; and siblings, Lester "Red", Norvin, Erma, Thelma, Jewel & Elbert.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Loren's caregivers, especially Jennifer Perdue, Amanda Breedlove, Bonnie Duff, Madison Mullins and Hospice Care of Middletown.
Funeral Service will be Friday, September 16, 2022 at 11:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd (at Bonita Dr), Middletown, with Reverend James Anderson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Miami Valley Memory Garden Mausoleum with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
