Loretta R. Flanagan, 85, of Monroe, died Monday, March 30, 2009, at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 6, 1923 to parents Walter and Loretta (McDonough) Haley.
Mrs. Flanagan earned her Masters Degree in education and taught at Mt. Saint Joseph College and Saint Vivian School in Cincinnati. She was a member of Holy Family Parish.
She is survived by her daughter, Beth Flanagan; two sons, Kevin Flanagan and Mark Flanagan; sister, Jeanne Pelley; and two grandchildren, Tyler Giancola and Heather Flanagan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. Flanagan in 1974; parents; and brother, Walter Haley Jr.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 3, 2009 at 10:00 am at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church, 1405 First Avenue, Middletown with Father Thomas Shearer as celebrant. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
