Louis Theodore Rossi, 90, of Middletown, died Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at his home. He was born in Middletown on March 20, 1929 to parents, Henry and Emelia (Donisi) Rossi.
Lou graduated from St. Joseph's High School in Rensselaer, Indiana. He worked for the Ohio Department of Transportation and retired as a District Supervisor. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, attending St. Mary's until it closed, then St. John's Church. Lou was quite the handyman while managing the family properties. He loved his family, enjoyed traveling, playing golf, loved to eat Italian food and to share a good drink, especially his Manhattans. He was previously the President of the Sons of Italy, was a member of Kiwanis and was a Kentucky Colonel, which he avidly promoted to get new members.
Mr. Rossi is survived by his wife of 30 years, Charlotte (Shannon) Rossi; three children, Henry (Linda) Rossi, Jennifer (Marc Citrin) Tomanovich & James (David Hinds) Rossi; three grandchildren, David Tomanovich, Molly (Ryan Bailey) Elam, and Kristina (Anthony) Villa; one great grandchild, Arlo Villa; and two stepchildren, Deborah (James) Witucki & Daniel (Linette) Hayes.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Ann Rossi; brother, Hugo Rossi; sister, Mary English; and his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019, at 1pm at Holy Family Parish-St. John's Church, 1405 First Ave., Middletown, with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be prior to the Mass from 11am-12:30pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Burial will be at Woodside Cemetery and Arboretum.
