Loyal Wagers, 78, of Middletown, died Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties. He was born in Hazard, Kentucky on May 5, 1940 to parents John and Opal (Banks) Wagers.
Loyal moved to Middletown to attend school after finishing the 5th grade in Hazard, KY. He retired from Sorg Paper/Bay West/ Wausau paper after 38 years holding various positions there over the years. He enjoyed bowling, playing softball and going to basketball games. Loyal was an avid UK basketball fan and an OSU football fan. He will be dearly missed by all.
Mr. Wagers is survived by his children, Jeff (Elizabeth) Barrett, Lisa (Michael) Cecil, and Holly (Daniel) Goodwin; sister Joyce (George) Gross and grandchildren, Jeffrey Wagers, Nick Bishop, Hunter Barrett, Samantha Hitte, Alex Cecil, Paige Barrett, Jarrett Goodwin, Macy Goodwin and Aiden Martin; and several great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, two aunts and an uncle.
Loyal was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Stella Wagers in 2017; daughter, Gina Michelle Bishop in 2006; mother, Opal Sizemore in 2017.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Rev Gregory Banks officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00-12:00pm. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties, 5940 Long Meadow Dr., Franklin, OH 45005.
