Lucille McCumber, 82, of Middletown, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at Hospice of Dayton. She was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana on February 13, 1926 to parents Forest Wayne and Anza (Hayes) Dunn.
Mrs. McCumber worked as a cook for KinderCare Learning Center for 14 years, retiring in 2002. She also did volunteer work at Sherman Elementary and for Fort Hill Youth Camp, and was an active member of Middletown Church of Christ. Lucille was one of the first women in Middletown to get a real estate license. She loved gardening, doing embroidery work, and cooking
Lucille is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Barry) Sullivan; two brothers, Wayne (Gerry) Dunn and Lowell (Shirley) Dunn; her favorite aunt, Osie Dunn; two grandchildren, Ryan Hutchinson and Anza Hutchinson; and numerous nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack V. McCumber; her parents; and brother, John Dunn.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at 11:00 AM at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown, with Pastor David Stidham officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
