Lucy Ellen Wills

Lucy Ellen Wills, 89 years old, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2003, at Middletown Regional Hospital. She is survived by Jesse Clay Wills, her loving and devoted husband of 56 years. They made their home together in Monroe for the last several years.

Lucy was preceded in death by her only child, Calvin Wills, her parents, James and Margaret (Brumett) Howard, and all but one sibling, Ethel Sanders, of Harrodsburg, Kentucky. She is also survived by her only grandchild, Carrie Wills of Middletown, and a daughter-in-law, Scott Ann Lane.

Lucy came to Middletown from Kentucky when she was a young woman and worked for a short time at Inland Container. She had very fond memories of her co-workers at Inland. She then devoted the rest of her life to making a loving home for her husband and son. Her faith and trust in the Lord serves to comfort her family in their sorrow.

The family would like to say thank you to the staff of Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village and Middletown Regional Hospital for their kindness and the good care Lucy received in her final days.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 12, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr. Visitation will be Friday, prior to the service, from 1-2 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
