Lynn E. Hurte, 88, of Middletown, died Wednesday June 14, 2006, at Willow Knoll Retirement Community. He was born in Madison County, Kentucky on February 1, 1918 to parents Frank and Fannie (Ross) Hurte.
Mr. Hurte worked as a welder for Armco Steel Corporation for 32 years, retiring in 1980. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 218, VFW Post 3809, and Loyal Order of Moose #501.
Lynn is survived by his wife, Alma (Ingram) Hurte; three sons, Nelson (Sue) Hurte of Middletown, Timmy (Patti) Hurte of Monroe, and Jimmy (Gladys) Hurte of Trenton; four grandchildren, Kelli Hurte, Chris Hurte, Taylor Hurte, and Abbey Hurte; step grandchildren, Taylor Hartman and Courtney Hartman; brothers, O.E. Hurte of South Carolina and Dud Hurte of Paint Lick, KY; and sisters, Lucille Curtis and Nadie Steele, both of Lexington, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Buz Hurte.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 17, 2006 at 10:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown, with Reverend Jack Woodward officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Butler County Memorial Park Mausoleum with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 218 Honor Guard.
