Mariette Davis Welbaum died on March 24, 2013 at Liberty Retirement Community.
Mariette was born in Montreal Canada in 1924. She attended Catholic schools in Chicago including DePaul University. She worked and lived in Chicago, San Francisco and Washington D.C. prior to her marriage to Dawson Y. Davis in 1949 in New Orleans. The Davis family lived in New Orleans, Washington D.C. and Bardstown, Danville, and Louisville Kentucky and lastly, Middletown. Her husband died in 1997. She is survived by her second husband, Donald Welbaum, and by a daughter, Colette Davis of Silver Spring, Maryland, and by a son, James T. Davis of Middletown and his wife Antoinette. She is preceded in death by her parents Rene and Flore Chouinard.
Mariette enjoyed history and travel and made some 25 trips to Europe, Central America and Canada. Every winter she enjoyed traveling to Florida. She retired as a legal secretary for Wilmer and Greathouse and was an office volunteer for Middfest International for 25 years. She was a member of Homemaker Circle Six for 45 years and a member of St. Mary's and Holy Family Parish since 1962.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Fr. John Civille officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1:00 - 2:00 pm. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Hope House Mission, 34 South Main St., Middletown, Ohio 45044.
