Marilyn J. Grandey

Marilyn J. Grandey, 86, formerly of Middletown, died Monday, May 1, 2017 in Columbus. She was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on November 11, 1930 to parents Perry and Ethel (Graves) Wallingford.

Mrs. Grandey earned her bachelor's degree from Otterbein College and taught English at Lakota High School for 23 years. She served as church organist for Lindenwald United Methodist Church, then Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Middletown.

Mrs. Grandey is survived by her husband, Max Grandey; two children, Patricia (Jon) Pierpoint & Thomas (Jennifer) Buchanan; three stepchildren, Karen Eslinger, Sue (Michael) O'Meara & Larry (Judy) Grandey; twelve grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 5, 2017 at 3:30 pm at First United Methodist Church, 120 S. Broad Street, Middletown with Reverend John Wagner officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 2:00 – 3:30 pm at the church.
