Marilyn McLaughlin, 74, of Middletown, Ohio, died on Monday, December 22, 2003, at Otterbein-Lebanon Retirement Community. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on September 24, 1929 to John and Rosalyn (Flum) Meyers.
Mrs. McLaughlin was a member of Holy Family Parish. She was a 1947 graduate of Hamilton High School and a loving mother and grandmother. Marilyn was a folk artist and her interest in folk art and crafts were heightened when her children were grown, and she opened her own store called the Century and a Half Shoppe in Springboro, Ohio from 1979 to 1989.
Marilyn is survived by, two daughters: Patrice (Gregory) Hardman of Mason, Ohio and Michele (Patrick) Schubert of Lebanon, Ohio; three sons: Timothy M. (Dorothy) McLaughlin of Hudson, Ohio, John R. McLaughlin of Middletown, Ohio and Peter N. McLaughlin of Newbury, Ohio; one sister: Georgia F. Kuhn of Conroe, TX; and six grandchildren, March McLaughlin, Abie McLaughlin, Alie McLaughlin, Amie McLaughlin, Christopher Schubert and Paige Hardman.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George T. McLaughlin in 2002.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Parish - Holy Trinity Church with Father John Civille as celebrant on Saturday, December 27, 2003 at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be Friday, December 26, 2003 from 5-8 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr,, Middletown, OH. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
