Richards-Cox, Marlena Kay
Marlena Kay Richards-Cox, 55, of Middletown, OH, died Friday, September 28, 2007, at The Christ Hospital, Cincinnati, OH. She was born in Middletown, OH on May 1, 1952 to parents Charles Thomas and Ethel Lucille (Harrison) Richards.
Marlena was a graduate of Middletown High School, Miami University and one of the greatest loves of her life, “The Ohio State University”, where she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority and was proud to be a “Fuzzie”.
She was a life long member of the First Presbyterian Church in Middletown, where she served as a Deacon, was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #501 Women’s Chapter and retired in 2004 from Butler County Jobs and Family Services after 30 years.
Marlena was accomplished in many crafts and enjoyed making quilts, baskets, scrap booking, stamping and knitting and crocheting items. She will be sorely missed by all those who loved her and were touched by her innate kindness.
Mrs. Richards-Cox is survived by her husband, John W. Cox of Middletown, her mother, Ethel Lucille Richards of Middletown, a sister, Judith Diane Richards of Middletown, a stepson, Chad Logan Cox of Westminster, Colorado, a stepdaughter, Elizabeth Mynhier (Chris) of Cape Coral, FL a granddaughter, Emily Elizabeth Mynhier, and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Thomas Richards in 1989.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church, 2910 Central Ave., Middletown. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, October 2, 2007 at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Drive), Middletown from 5:00-7:00 PM. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery. Memorial Contributions are suggested to the donor’s Charity of Choice.
