Martha Ann Day, 67, of Middletown, died on Thursday, March 25, 2004, at her residence. She was born in Middletown, on August 4, 1936 to Steven J. and Mary A. (Sigecan) Piedel.
Martha was a graduate of Bishop Fenwick High School. She was a secretary for attorney James Smith. She was a member of Holy Family Parish.
Martha is survived by one daughter, Marti A. Baker of Trenton, OH; two sons, Stephen S. (Jana) Cavanaugh of Middletown, OH, and Michael L. (Barbara) Cavanaugh of Springboro, OH; three sisters, Rose-Marie (Donald) Steere of Middletown, OH, Barbara (Roger) South of Middletown, OH, and Dorothy (Gene T.) Sawyer of Middletown, OH; two brothers, John J. (Mary) Piedel of Middletown, OH, and Larry S. (Lucy) Piedel of Bellingham, WA; a step daughter, Dana (George) Coates of FL; six grandchildren, Shannon (Bret) Seipel, Shawna Cavanaugh, Sarah Cavanaugh, Stephen Cavanaugh, Bobby Baker, and Ben Baker; and three great grandchildren, Alexis Cavanaugh, Kennedy Seipel, and Karys Seipel.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Arthur Frank Cavanaugh in 1984 and Homer Day in 1994; her parents; and a brother, James Piedel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 29, 2004 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church with Monsignor Paul Metzger as celebrant. Visitation will be Sunday, from 2-4 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., Middletown, OH. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
