Mary Beth Orth, 57, of Cincinnati, died Thursday, June 30, 2011, at VITAS Hospice at the Drake Center after a 2 month battle with cancer. She was born in Middletown on January 11, 1954 to parents Henry and Josephine A. (Fisher) Orth.
Mary Beth was a member of Holy Family Parish and loved to garden. She lived courageously everyday for 35 years with multiple sclerosis. Mary Beth was a graduate of Fenwick High School and went on to graduate from the Dayton School of Practical Nursing. After a short career as an LPN, she went to the University of Cincinnati and received a degree in journalism. She was a writer at the Academy of Medicine in Cincinnati and retired as a writer/editor from Union Institute & University in 2006.
Miss Orth is survived by her sister, JoAnn Witherspoon and many aunts, uncles, cousins & friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 10:00 am at Holy Family Parish - Holy Trinity Church, 201 Clark Street, Middletown with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:00 - 10:00 AM at the church. *Inurnment will be at a later date at Woodside Cemetery.
* Graveside Service on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Woodside Cemetery (section 19) at 10:00 AM with Father John Civille officiating.
