Mary D. Ginter, a model of America's greatest generation, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties. She was born in Mount Sterling, Kentucky on March 6, 1924 to parents Edward Spencer and Mary Lou (Hudson) Spencer Vice.
On August 30, 1943, she entered a loving 43 year marriage to Irvine M. Ginter, and they made their home in Middletown. He preceded her in death in 1986. She was also preceded in death by her parents and sister, Betty Carolyn Simpkins.
Mrs. Ginter is survived by her son, James L. (Ida) Ginter of Columbus; sister-in-law, Julia Ginter; brother-in-law, H. Eugene Simpkins; and many nieces & nephews.
Mary D. was a strong, yet gentle, lady who loved her family, her gardening, her needlework, and her independence. She was a loyal and long-term member of Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 11:00 am at Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church, 1052 Middletown-Eaton Rd., Middletown with Reverend Jack Marsh and Reverend Maurice Dunn officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am at church. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
