Mary Elizabeth Knepshield Leopold passed away Tuesday, at her residence at Towne Point.
Mary graduated from Middletown High School with her sister Louise and worked at Gardner Paper Company for 42 years. She was married to Frederick Leopold for 34 years, until his death in 1981. A lifelong member of First United Methodist Church, Mary loved sports and was on several softball and bowling teams. She and her sister were a familiar sight for many years as they rode around Middletown on their bicycles, equipped with tall, bright pink safety flags.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brothers Howard, Harold, and Charles Knepshield; and her sister Louise Knepshield. She is survived by nephews Jan, Harold David, Mac, Lee, and Scot Knepshield; nieces Sharon Johnson, Derylann Mather, and Lynda Goecke; a special friend Velma Tusing; and cousin Edna Kirby.
Reverend Stuart Rammes will officiate the funeral service. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Middletown, 4414 Lewis Street, Middletown, OH 45044.
