Mary E. Shyers Neu Reardon

Mary E. Shyers Neu Reardon, 83, of Monroe, died Tuesday, February 21, 2006, at Middletown Regional Hospital. She was born in Middletown, on November 20, 1922.

Mary worked as a clerk for Armco Steel Corporation. She was a member of Monroe United Methodist Church, and had been active at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village.

Mrs. Reardon is survived by her daughters, Connie (James) Clevenger of Vandalia and Carol (partner Kim Lahman) Neu of Cincinnati; sons, John (Judy) Neu of Mohave Valley, AZ and Mike Neu of Middletown; step daughter, Carlean Gilbert of Chicago, IL; step sons, Brad Reardon and Carl J. Reardon, both of Columbus; two sisters, Shirley (Les) Wills of Gratis and Phyllis Tucker of Germantown; three brothers, Eddie Shyers of Mt. Dora, FL, Paul (Betty) Shyers of Eaton, and Jerry Springfield of Sommerville, FL; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Louis Neu in 1968 and Carl S. Reardon in 1997; and her parents Martha (Stepp) Springfield and Ulys Springfield.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 24, 2006 at 10:00 AM at Monroe United Methodist Church, 206 East Ave., Monroe, with Reverend Bradford G. Olson and Chaplain Stan Gockel officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, from 5-8 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown. Interment will be at North Monroe Cemetery.
