Mary E. (Madden) Wootan, 89, of Middletown, died Sunday, December 9, 2007, at McKnight Terrace. She was born in Malaga, Kentucky on April 12, 1918 to George and Maude (Dalton) Madden.
Mrs. Wootan worked in retail for 20 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Holy Family Parish – St. John’s Church.
Mary is survived by two sons, Fred C. (Barbara) Wootan and David A. (Catherine) Wootan; a daughter, Patricia P. (Frank) Detzel; five grandchildren, Brian (Dianne) Lampton, Jeffrey (Minette) Lampton, Colleen (Dallas) Lampton-Brill, Michael (Laura) Wootan, and Abigail (Dan) Bzdyl; and 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred J. Wootan in 1989; her parents; brothers, Silas Madden, Weldon Madden, John Henry Madden, Ralph Madden, and Rufus Madden; and sisters, Pansy Higginson, Josie Combs, and Anna Jean Madden.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of McKnight Terrace and Vitas Hospice for their special care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at 12:00 Noon at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church with Father Pat Tonry, SM as celebrant. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 11:00 - 11:30 AM at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.) Middletown. Entombment will be at Woodside Mausoleum.
