Mary Ellen Wills

Mary Ellen Wills, 88, of Middletown, died Wednesday, August 15, 2007, at Garden Manor Retirement Village. She was born in Middletown, on April 8, 1919 to John R. and Irene (Barringer) Hill.

Mrs. Wills was a lifelong resident of Middletown, residing the past four years at Garden Manor Retirement Village. She worked selling real estate for Bill Ballard, Harkrader Century 21, and Courtney Duff Realtors, and was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. John's Church. She married John R. Wills on June 24, 1936 at Holy Trinity Church. Mary Ellen loved life and her children. She always had a lovely smile for everyone that saw her. She was a wonderful seamstress and loved making her clothes.

Mary is survived by three sons, John 'Jack' (Ruth Ann) Wills, Mark Wills, both of Middletown, and Richard (Ellen) Wills of Collins, MS; three grandchildren, Cheryl Ann (Fred) Creager, Chris (Georganna) Wills, and Kelly Wills; great grandchildren, Amy & April Creager and Tyler & Joseph Wills; great great grandchildren, Mariah Creager and Junior Turner; and numerous nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Wills in 2001; her parents; sisters, Loretta Everette, Ruth Coleman, and Frances Letts; and brother, Richard Hill.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to Dr. Jeff Zollett, Debbie Parker, Shirley Riley, and Crystal Boggs. Many thanks to the Southeast Aides that tended to Mary Ellen and special thanks to Iva, Carol, Tammy, & Rose.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Friday, August 17, 2007 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Entombment will be at Woodside Mausoleum.
