Mary “Jeri” Hamlin, 74, of Middletown, died on April 3, 2003, at her daughter’s home in Fairfield Township. She was born in Middletown on July 6, 1928 to parents Edward Silas and Sara Jane (Carter) Bayes.
Jeri was past president of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3809 Ladies Auxiliary, member of the American Legion Post 218 Women´s Auxiliary, the Elks Socialites, and Imperial Court #34 Order of the Amaranth. She was an avid bowler, bowling in the Elks bowling league and was a precinct worker.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband James E. Hamilin on September 12, 1987; her parents; and 11 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by one daughter: Debbie (Steve) Morrison of Hamilton; two sons: Gregory (Laura) Salome of Middletown and Larry (Sandy) Robinson of Springboro; two stepsons, Daniel (Sue) Hamlin of Monroe and James Hamlin of Florida; a stepdaughter, Martha (Jimmy) Thomas of Brookville, IN; grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, & Jennifer Morrison, Gregory Scott Salome, Cara Cornell, Justin, Kelly, Joshua, & Heather Robinson; step grandchildren, Kim, & Kyle Hamlin, and Julie, & Jesse Thomas; great grandchildren Allysia & Dakota Robinson; nieces, Janet (Tom) Draut of Findlay, OH, Karen (Dale) Van Ostrand of Monroe, and Norma (Bob) Fugett of Port Charlotte, FL; and nephews, Bob (Wanda) Tewart of Trenton, and Jack (Deanna) Bayes of Lebanon.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 7, 2003 at 11:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., with Reverend Tom Ramsey officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, April 6, 2003 from 2-5 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
