Mary Jane Grant, 93, of Monroe, died peacefully Friday, June 15, 2018, at Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties. She was born in Covington, Kentucky on November 9, 1924 to parents Rudy and Nora (Napier) Gute.

Mary Jane worked the voting polls for 30 years, was an active, and long time member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, and was a tireless, loving mother. Mom had a quick wit with selfless grace and an inspiring way of making all those around her feel welcomed and at ease.

Mrs. Grant is survived by her children, Timothy M. Grant, H. Brian (Barbara) Grant, Nora E. (Edward) Dobrozsi, Susan M. (Dan) MacLeod; 9 grandchildren 3 great grandchildren, brother-in-law, Hugh (Marilyn) Grant; many nieces & nephews; good friend, Loretta "Coty" Mulloy; cousin, Audrey Stiles, and neighbors of Penbrooke Court.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William “Bill” J Grant, to whom she was a devoted wife, sister, Mildred (Robert) Mulvaney; sister, Catherine (Tom) McClintock; brother, Joseph (Gladys) Gute; brother, Pete (Dorothy) Gute.

Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 11:30 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 330 Lebanon Street, Monroe with Father Paul Gebhardt and Father Terry Meehan officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:30 am at church.

A private inurnment at North Monroe Cemetery will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties, 5940 Long Meadow Dr., Franklin, OH 45005 or Hospice of Dayton 325 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, OH 45420.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties and Hospice of Dayton, and Silvia Frempong with Amadyss Home Health Care.
