Mary Kraft, 92, of Monroe, died Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at Middletown Regional Hospital. She was born in Middletown, on April 24, 1913 to John and Anna (Jendek) Balaz.
Mary was a resident of Hawthorn Glen Nursing Center and a member of Holy Family Parish in Middletown. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her family, bowling, gardening, and bingo.
Mary is survived by three sons, Jim (Jeanne) Kraft, Tom (Carolyn) Kraft, and John (Kathy) Kraft; twelve grandchildren, Barbara VanderMeulin, Jim Kraft, Don Kraft, Kathy Wurtzler, Susan Murphy, David Kraft, Chris Kraft, John Kraft, Mike Kraft, Rob Kraft, Amy Garrett, and Kevin Kraft; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; a sister, Anna Cmehil; sister-in-law, Helen Balaz; brother-in-law, Melvin Steele; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Kraft; her parents; three sisters, Josephine Keuthan, Betty Krizan, and Kay Steele; and a brother, John Balaz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, July 25, 2005 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church with Monsignor Paul Metzger as celebrant. Visitation will be Sunday, from 2-4 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.) Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
Since her husband, Carl “Boob” Kraft was one of the co-founders of the CYO program in Middletown, and she enjoyed watching her family participate in youth sports, any memorial donations may be sent to Holy Family / John XXIII Athletic Board, c/o Don Marconi, Treasurer, 4909 Wicklow Dr., Middletown, OH 45042.
