Mary Lee Knepshield

Mary Lee Knepshield, 88, of Middletown, died Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at Atrium Medical Center. She was born in West Elkton, on July 10, 1919 to parents Lee and Katheryn (Drake) Talbert.

Mrs. Knepshield graduated from Miami University and worked as a teacher for Middletown City School System, teaching at Blue Ball and Wildwood Elementary. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, the Mary Harrison Circle, and was a Sunday School Teacher. She was also a volunteer with Middletown Hospital Auxiliary and was a member of The Knitting Connection. Mary Lee was a past member of the Butler County Retired Teachers Association, Promises, West Elkton Friends Meeting, Musical Arts Association, Epicurean Club, Sigma Kappa Sorority, the Green Thumb Garden Club, and she had been a Girl Scout Leader.

Mrs. Knepshield is survived by her daughter, Lynda S. (Gene) Goecke; three sons, C. Mac (Barbara) Knepshield, Lee M. Knepshield, and Scot T. (Mary Dee) Knepshield; a brother, Corwin D. (Pat) Talbert; ten grandchildren, Adriann (Jason) Divozzo, Andy Knepshield, Jared Jones, Jessica Jones, Kaedi (Jim) Manly, Talle Knepshield, Emily Goecke, Jonathan (Carly) Goecke, Cale Knepshield, and McCarthy Knepshield; and one great grandchild, Jillian Divozzo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Knepshield in 1990; her parents; and daughter-in-law, Nancy Bare-Knepshield.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, February 24, 2008, at 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church, 120 S. Broad St., Middletown, with Reverend Dean Penrod officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at church.
