Mary Sulfsted, 92, of Middletown, died on Tuesday, May 11, 2004, at Willow Knoll Retirement Community. She was born in Middletown, Ohio on March 1, 1912 to Clement and Frances (Maher) Sulfsted.
Mary worked as a teacher for the Middletown Public School System for 31 years. She received her bachelor degree in music from the College of Mount St. Joseph as well as her bachelor and masters degree in education from Miami University in Oxford. Her family had owned Sulfsted Bakery. Mary was a member of Holy Family Parish-Holy Trinity Church where she was formerly the assistant organist. She taught private music lessons in her home.
Mary is survived by several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, May 13, 2004 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Parish - Holy Trinity Church with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Thursday, prior to the service from 9 - 9:30 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., Middletown. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
