Mary Princess was reunited with the love of her life, Ron, on November 8, 2024. Mary leaves behind many she loved including children, Laurie and Scott, daughter-in-law Liz, grandchildren Tucker, Trent, Tessa, Tate and Tori, sister Euna (Andy) Bolen, “bonus daughters” Sue Hutson and Gail Corrill, in addition to many family members and special friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald G. (aka Woody or Pidge), parents Earl and Cora Horton, and siblings Carolyn Russell and Vada Horton.
Born and raised in Middletown, Mary graduated from Middletown High in 1962 and married Ron in 1964. Throughout her life, Mary P. had the opportunity to share her gifts, love and laughter in so many ways. Mary’s greatest life blessings included being a stay at home mother, the wife of a church leader, a 5o+ year Sunday School teacher at Parkway/Spring Hill Church of Christ, a volunteer for Tuesday School and doting grandma.
Mary will be remembered for her great pride in and devotion to her family, but only secondary to her unwavering love of the Lord. Mary was the epitome of a good and faithful servant. She was so very passionate about the church and proudly demonstrated christian beliefs and values whenever, wherever she was. Mary loved to cook, sing, fellowship and attend her children/grandchildren’s activities.
Mary's earthly journey was blessed with much love and support. No words can express how grateful and thankful we are for the loving, incredible teams from Hospice Care of Middletown and the Memory Care Unit at The Winfield at Middletown.
Mary (and Woody) lived at the Winfield since March 2017. While there, they had the chance to interact with many. It would be difficult to name all who contributed to keeping them happy, safe and supported over the years, however it would also be neglectful to not highlight Bree, Ryan, Kristin and Kristi for their endless support. THANKS to ALL for being part of the Wood family - for coming into our lives at just the right time, in just the right way and for the role you played in making rough times more manageable, offering understanding and compassion beyond measure and demonstrating love without end.
