Matthew E. Fiora, 54, of Cincinnati, died Tuesday, September 6, 2016, as a result of a tragic motorcycle accident on September 4th. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on March 27, 1962 to parents Carl and Margaret (Setterlin) Fiora.
He leaves two children, Justin, 27, and Grace, the light of his life, aged 16. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Christopher (Linda) Fiora & Jon (Holly) Fiora and sister, Meg (Sandy James) Fiora. Matt also leaves three nieces, Carissa, Rachael & Kinsey and nephew, Caden as well as many other loving family & friends.
Matt graduated from Middletown High School, the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, and Miami University Hamilton with a bachelor's degree in Nursing. Prior to obtaining his nursing degree at 51, he ran a successful business as a tile contractor. His nursing career was with the Mercy Hospital System, both at Jewish Hospital and Mercy West. His last position was as a nurse in the ICU at Mercy West. Matt truly found his calling in nursing, and was well loved by his patients and co-workers. Matt had a witty sense of humor enjoyed by all who knew him. In addition to his love for nursing, Matt was a talented photographer, had a passion for all types of music and enjoyed craft beer. He was a loving father, a delightful son, and a fun uncle.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend Michael Isaacs officiating. There will be no gathering prior to the service. His ashes will be dispersed at the convenience of the family.
