Mattie A. Taylor Napier

Mattie A. Taylor Napier, 97, of Middletown, died on October 21, 2003, at her residence. She was born in Owsley County, Kentucky on March 3, 1906 to parents George and Emily (Morgan) Bowles.

Mattie had lived in Middletown since 1924 and was co-owner of Taylor´s Furniture Store in Poasttown for 31 years. She was a caring person and was devoted to her family. She was always ready to extend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Mattie is survived by three daughters; Opal P. (Homer) Brate of Franklin, Virginia L. (Manford) Morris of Middletown, and Melva R. (Michael) Zimmer of Tipp City; 9 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Clifton Creech who had been so kind to his Aunt Mattie.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, James P. Taylor and Asa Napier; a son, Robert Taylor; a daughter, Donna Gail Taylor; her parents; and brothers & sisters, Laurie, Dellie, Cleo, James, Johnny, Dewey, Lucy, Bud, & Ruby.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 23, 2003 at 1:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., with Reverend Phillip Manning officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 6-8 PM the funeral home. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
