Maurice J. DeBrosse, Sr., 80, of Middletown, died Sunday, February 26, 2012, at Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties. He was born in Russia, Ohio on March 24, 1931 to parents Maurice A. and Irma (McGreevy) DeBrosse.
Maurice worked for Armco Steel Corp for 41 years, retiring as Superintendent of the Tubing Department in 1991. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Mr. DeBrosse is survived by his wife, Joan E. (Hirsch) DeBrosse; sons, Maurice (Carol) DeBrosse Jr., Michael (Mary Jo) DeBrosse & Kevin (Teresa) DeBrosse; daughter, Karen (Paul) Ryan; eleven grandchildren, Lisa (Matt) Fening, Lindsay DeBrosse, Ashley DeBrosse, Michelle DeBrosse, Michael DeBrosse, Christine DeBrosse, Nicholas DeBrosse, Allison DeBrosse, Brian (Susan Small) DeBrosse, Stephanie Ryan & Julieanne Ryan; three great grandchildren, Ian DeBrosse, Emma Honchul & Ethan Croft-Dooley and sister, Eileen Larger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and one sister.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 10:00 am at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church, 1405 First Avenue, Middletown with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown, OH. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton.
Memorial donations may be made to Holy Family Parish, 201 Clark Street, Middletown, Ohio 45042.
