Mayola F. Sauers, 83, of Middletown, died Monday, August 6, 2007, at Middletown Regional Hospital. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on October 28, 1923 to Clarence and Rosa (Zeier) Deger.
Mrs. Sauers, a loving wife and devoted mother of six, worked as a secretary at Fenwick High School and as a bookkeeper for United Way, and was the treasurer for Middletown Area Neediest Youth for 25 years.
Mayola is survived by three daughters, Fran (Tom) Hamilton, Dorothy (Bob) McConnell, and Joan (Bob) Knight; three sons, Tom (Patty) Sauers, Joe (Lisa) Sauers, and Jim (Marty McDonald) Sauers; sisters, Christina Christian and Rita Hill; brother, Jim Deger; eleven grandchildren, Jennifer (Jim) Heagen, Emily Sauers, Matt Hamilton, Julie (Andy) Witt, Kevin McConnell, Kelly McConnell, Lynn Sauers, Michael Sauers, Katie Sauers, Shelly (Greg) Bouhanna, and Bryan Gildea; and 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Sauers in 1979; her parents; siblings, Paul, Clarence, and Josephine Deger; and grandson, Jason Hamilton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown, OH. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
