Michael E. "Daddy-O" Manning, 64, of Middletown, Ohio has resided in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina for the past 12 years, went to Heaven on Thursday, December 1, 2016.

Mike attended Madison High School, where he lettered in basketball four years, track three years, and football one year. His senior year, in 1970, he was voted best dressed, and was on the Homecoming Court. He graduated in 1970. Michael became interested in golf when he became a caddy at Brown's Run Country Club, during Junior High School. He found he just loved the game, and from then on would play any chance he could. In the 1980's he came in second in the Middletown City Tourny. Mike started work at Armco Steel in 1970, shortly after he was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam Era, he would serve in the military until the war ended, then returned to Armco. After thirty years he would retire in 2000.

Michael met his wife Nannette Henning in July of 1977, it was love at first sight. They would marry two months later on Sept. 24, 1977, at Holy Trinity Church. They were a true love couple and best friends who would have celebrated their 40th anniversary. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Middletown and St. Michael's Parish, South Carolina. He was a wonderful dad, of three boys, Joe, Tweed and Martin Manning. He took pride in telling everyone, that his boys were his best friends. Mike loved his golf and being with his family. We now have another part of our hearts, souls and family taken away from us. He can never be replaced.

Michael is survived by his wife, Nannette Henning Manning of South Carolina; two sons, Tweed Michael Manning of Atlanta, Georgia who works in the Film Industry & Martin Michael Manning of Savannah, Georgia who works as a graphic designer at SCAD; two grandchildren, Lela & Stuart Manning; brothers, Roger (Nora) Manning & Rick (Joyce) Manning; sister, Cindy (Chris) Manning Kelly; sister-in-law, Gretchen Manning; brothers-in-law, Phill Henning, Rod (Kathy) Henning, Regan Henning, & Mike (Char Henning) Armitage; and many nieces & nephews who loved and respected him. He was a kind and happy soul who always saw the positive side of things. His love for his family will never die.

He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Joe Michael Manning of Middletown; mother, Maxine Little; father, Everett Manning; step mother, Donna Manning; and two brothers, Matt & Jimmy Manning. His son Joe welcomed him into Heaven.

Memorial Mass will be held Friday, December 9, 2016 at 11:00 am at Holy Family Parish - Holy Trinity Church, 201 Clark Street, Middletown with Father John Civille as celebrant. There will be no visitation.
