Michael J. Abell

Michael J. Abell, known to many as Moose, 76, of Middletown, died Thursday, November 12, 2015, at Atrium Medical Center. He was born in Middletown on August 12, 1939 to parents Clarence and Louise (Sennett) Abell.

Michael worked at Armco for 40 years in the Roll Shop, followed by 15 years at Adesa. He was a member of Holy Family Parish and the Loyal Order of the Moose #501. Michael was a loving husband, father of four and grandfather of seven. His passions included spoiling his grandchildren, travelling near and far to cheer on and support all of their activities and provide a wholesome smile and wave. Michael's passions also included many card playing groups with his friends. In addition to watching sporting events, he loved spending time with his devoted wife of 56 years. His induction to Fenwick Athletic Hall of Fame was a proud moment in his life.

Mr. Abell is survived by his wife, Marilyn R. (Frey) Abell; sons, Jeffrey (Melissa) Abell & Todd (Melissa) Abell; daughters, Betsy Rossi & Mary Lynne (Jeff) Bierman; brother, Tom Abell; sister, Linda (John) Gibson; grandchildren, Michael, Sara, Amie, Grace, Michael, Grant & Bradley; great grandchildren, Kayden & Kyren; and loving nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 16, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Holy Family Parish - Holy Trinity Church, 201 Clark Street, Middletown with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
