Michael Lee Morrison, 66, of Middletown, passed away November 1, 2013 at Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties with his family at his side. Born in Middletown on March 5, 1947, he was the son of Don A. Morrison and Patricia A. (Voorhis) Burnett. Michael and his sister Deborah were raised by their grandparents Harold and Leona Voorhis.
Michael graduated from Middletown High School in 1965 and attended Miami University in Oxford Ohio. He worked as a programmer at McGraw Construction in the 1980's and in the IT department at ACMG in Miamisburg where he retired in 2011. Michael was a well known and very talented musician in the area, having played with bands such as Sagebrush, CD Craft and the Second Edition, Grubstake, Windal Cottle and the Mellowed with Time Band, Cottonmouth and many others.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents Harold and Leona Voorhis; his sister Deborah Morrison; stepfather Bobby G Burnett; and father Don Morrison.
He is survived by his mother Patricia; wife Debra Young Morrison; daughter Michelle (John); son Michael (Kimberly); granddaughters Adley and Alayna, grandson Brantley; and very special friend Dorcas Calhoun.
Michael requested inurnment with his sister at Woodside Cemetery and Arboretum. A memorial service will be held Friday, November 8, 2013 at Spring Hill Church of Christ, 2021 Brell Drive in Middletown, with a pot-luck dinner being served at 4:30 pm and service following at 6:00 pm with Steve Reeves officiating.
