Michael L. "Mike" Williams

Michael Lee "Mike" Williams, 78, of Middletown, passed away on October 10, 2024 from pancreatic cancer. Born on September 30, 1946, son of the late Oma Olive and Drexel Ray Williams.

Mike was an athletic, generous, happy, outgoing man of God who found humor in the common. He spent his early career years as an Art Teacher at Madison High School, where he not only established the art program but was also a multi-sport coach, filling in wherever there was a need, even if it went beyond his experience or skillset. He transitioned into a State Farm Insurance Agent, where he spent the next 30 years beating sales goals and winning awards - but more importantly, reaching and serving the community he insured (Middletown, Zanesville and Fairfield, Ohio). He had a heart to serve God and reach others for Christ thru his efforts of Evangelism Explosion, Racers for Christ, enabled Ministries in Middletown for Grace Baptist and more. Mike loved creating art in all forms, including pottery and painting, filling his walls with many masterpieces which he proudly displayed.

Mike is survived by his spouse of 23 years, Joyce Williams and her daughter, Sarah Mail, as well as his former wife of 32 years, Penny Williams and their 6 children, Michael Williams, Craig (Pam) Williams, Mary (Shawn) Wood, Penny (Joseph) Bakhit, Stephanie Doucette and Diana (Joe) Liwosz and his 23 grandchildren, Joshua, Caleb, Elijah (Shannon), Malachi, Josiah, Miriam, Silas, Naomi, Ezra, Boaz, Jaden, Ian, Carsten, Kmya, Avia, Katlyn (Brett), Chase, Hunter, Brycen, Alexandra, Jameson, Audiana, and Adelaide. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Hannah Wood.

Funeral Service will be Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown, with Pastor Jim Winters officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 12:00 noon - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Madison Township.
