Mildred L. Mcevoy

Mildred L. "Mid" McEvoy, 89, of Middletown, went home peacefully in the comfort of her family Monday, November 23, 2015, at Bickford Assisted Living. She was born in Middletown on August 23, 1926 to parents Steven R. and Pearl E. (Profitt) Shepherd.

Mid had worked as a secretary for Middletown City Schools for 30 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of First Christian Church. Mid had a passion for music and shared her love with her family. She was her sister's biggest fan as they were the popular 50's group "The Shepherd Sisters". Mildred had her own singing group with her brothers and sisters and she played mandolin. She could find a harmony in any song. She loved to cook, sing, dance, play golf and sew.

Mildred was a loving mother, sister, grandmother & great grandmother who is survived by her daughter, Barbara Guthrie; son-in-law, Jerry Guido; sisters, Mary Lou Brooks & Gayle Vale; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Mack II; daughters, Billie Taylor & Linda Guido; son, John W. Mack III; son-in-law, Larry Guthrie; parents; sisters, Maybel Lawson, Martha Waldbaum & Judy Pedudo; and brothers Dorsey Shepherd, Paul Shepherd & Jesse Thompson.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, November 27, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 - 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
