Molly B. Lakes

Molly B. Lakes, 86, of Monroe, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Ohio Living Mt. Pleasant.  She  was born in Perry County, Kentucky on March 14, 1938 to parents, John and Fayma Combs.

Molly had worked at the Sports Bowl as their restaurant manager and bartender for many years until their closing. Anyone who knows Molly knows that she enjoyed bowling, was quite an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and a big NASCAR enthusiast as well. She had season tickets to the Cincinnati Reds and enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the games.

Molly is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Jeff Trimble) Lakes; sons, Larry (Rose) Lakes and Robbie (Tonya Duff) Tackett; brother, Desmond (Linda) Combs; sisters, Atha (Ray) Powell and Cathy (Ed) Walters and sister-in-law, Lynn Combs; six grandchildren, Karen Lakes, Stan Lakes, James Lakes, Brandon Trimble, Brian (Cara) Trimble and Brent Trimble; five great grandchildren, Julia & Vada Trimble, Sam Crouch and Trevor & Bryson Lakes; and numerous nieces & nephews.

In addition to her parents, Molly was preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa Lakes; brother, Charles Combs; and sisters, Lillian Brooks and Dottie Collins.

The family would like to thank the staff of Ohio Living Mt. Pleasant of Monroe for taking such good care of Molly.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown, with Pastor Chuck Wolfinbarger officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 12:00 noon - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment  will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
