Moses W. Gamble, 83, of Middletown, died Tuesday, October 2, 2018. He was born in Esom Hill, Georgia on March 30, 1935 to parents Grudged W. and Pearl (Gibbs) Gamble.
Moses worked for Armco/AK Steel in the masonry department and in security, retiring after 42 years of service. Following his retirement, he worked as a courier for First Financial Bank. He was a member of the Middletown Police Reserve for 20 years. Moses was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church for 50 years, where he served as a trustee and sang in the choir. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge & Shriners, coached Little League Baseball and served as a board member for the organization, and worked with various civil rights organizations in the community. Moses loved his family and adored spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Gamble is survived by his sons, David D. (Kimberly) Gamble, Jerry W. (Kirsten) Gamble & Jason D. (Tara) Gamble; daughters, Brenda L. (Jesse) Peebles & Beverly J. Gamble; brothers, Walter Gamble & Henry Gamble; sisters, Carrieann Donaldson & Ruby Green; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and many other loving family & friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Christana Gamble in 2009; parents; brother, Willy Gamble; and sisters, Mary Pearl Gamble & Rachel Diamond.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Jennewine and the Doctors and Staff of Otterbein Hospice for their wonderful care.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 8, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Mt Zion Baptist Church, 1000 Yankee Rd., Middletown with Pastor Leon Wilkinson officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:00 - 1:00 pm at the church. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
