Nancy M. Lubberger

Nancy M. Lubberger, 93, of Monroe, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013, at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village in Monroe.

She was born November 9, 1920 in Middletown and lived in the local area all of her life. She graduated from Monroe High School, where she subsequently worked as a secretary for many years. She was a member of Monroe United Methodist Church, a past member of Questors, and a member of the Monroe Historical Society. She was an avid collector of antiques, especially glassware. She lived her last 10 years at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village, where she enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. She took great joy in her three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Bill Lubberger; sister, Carolyn Derrickson; and brother, Joe Derrickson

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann (Tom) Leeds of Monroe and Fran (Doug) Gorman of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren, Bill Leeds of Monroe, Scott Gorman of San Antonio, Texas, and Crissy Rodriguez of Spring Branch, Texas; seven great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 11:00 am at Mary H. Kittredge Chapel at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village, 225 Britton Lane, Monroe with Reverend Dr. Timothy J. Waugh, Sr. of Monroe United Methodist Church and Chaplain Karen Fleming of Mt. Pleasant officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am at the chapel. Interment will be at Mound Cemetery.
