Naomi Esther Kroger 86, of Middletown, passed away early in the afternoon Sunday, May 3, 2015 surrounded by family members at Mount Pleasant Nursing Home. Naomi was born in Dayton on March 30, 1929 to Harold Arthur and Myrtle A. Freeze. Naomi was preceded in death by her husband and best friend of 63 years Wilbur Mason Kroger; daughters, Mary Ann Kroger & Shirley McGonigle; parents; brother Harold Freeze; and sister Dorothy Schecter.
Naomi is survived by her children, Wil (Antoinette) Kroger, Pauline (Jesse) Rose, Darlene O'Hair & Robert Kroger; brother Melvin (Jan) Freeze; sister Miriam (Doug) Stull; 11 grandchildren and more than 21 great-grandchildren.
Naomi was a longtime the member of Truth Tabernacle Church. She enjoyed over 25 years as a loyal member of Tops Club 549, spending many years as the club secretary and photographer. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and endless stories about life.
The family would like thank Hospice Care of Middletown as well as Mount Pleasant Nursing Home for the special care and love they showed our precious mom.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 11:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend Ken Dillingham officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 pm and Thursday, one hour prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am. Entombment will be at Woodside Mausoleum.
