Naomi Rittenberry Olinger, 84, of Middletown, died Sunday, January 28, 2018, at Garden Manor Retirement Village. She was born in Wise, Virginia on July 10, 1933 to parents Carnie and Mae (Tackett) Rittenberry.
Naomi was a member of Poasttown First Church of God, where she worked in the Dorcas Center and was active with the Faithful Few Nursing Home Ministry there.
Mrs. Olinger is survived by her sons, C.Wayne (Debbie) Olinger & Donald Olinger; daughter, Greta Olinger Phipps Long; grandchildren, Kimberly (Josh) Ashton, Misty Ash, Dawn (James) Chandler, Shawn (Heather) Napier & Eric (Marsha) Napier; great grandchildren, Andy, Kelli, Kristin, Josh, Tyler, Connor, Maggie, Ally, Izzy & Sami; 6 great great grandchildren; her twin sister, Roma Arch; brother, Herman Rittenberry; and special nephews, Scott (Emma) Bowling & Mark (Robin) Bowling. She was preceded in death by her husband, V.L. Olinger in 2015; parents; brothers, Orville, James, Billy, Kenneth, Robert, Danny & Larry Rittenberry; sisters, Anna Lee Griffen & Lois Jean Bowling, who was raised by Naomi & V.L.; and sons-in-law, Greenie Phipps Jr. & Robert Ray Long.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Pastor Glenn Fields officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Interment will be at North Monroe Cemetery.
