Norma Jean Garber, 84, of Middletown, died Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Sycamore Hospital. She was born in Springfield on August 30, 1931 to parents William E. and Nellie C. (Burkes) Snider.
Norma Jean graduated from Olive Branch High School with the Class of 1949 and she also graduated from the Patricia Stevens Modeling School in 1952. She became a member of the Anderson College Chorlaires. She went on accomplish more modeling school with Bettie Massie Modeling and worked with the agency for many years as a runway and TV commercial model. In the early to mid-80's Norma Jean was a beauty consultant for Estee Lauder as well as an instructor with Holiday Health Spa and the late 80's found her working with the Houbigant Fragrance Company. In 1991 she married Paul Garber Jr. She had attended the Maiden Lane Church of God in Springfield and more recent years they attended Breiel Blvd. Church of God.
Mrs. Garber is survived by her husband, Paul Garber Jr.; son, Martin D. Hayes; stepsons, David (Glenda) Garber, Philip (Gloria) Garber, Kevin Garber & Alan Garber; brothers-in-law, Galen Garber & Dr. Stanley Garber; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 12:00 noon at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Pastor Stanley Darrell Daniels officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. Interment will be Saturday at 2:30 pm at the Vale Road Cemetery in Springfield Township, Ohio.
