Norman Hugh Yager, Sr., 83, of Maumee, died Sunday, January 1, 2017, at The Woodlands of Middletown. He was born in Ossian, Indiana on December 5, 1933 to parents Clayton A. and Caroline (Barnes) Yager.
Norman worked as a heavy equipment operator with the Local 18 Operating Engineers for 30 years, retiring in 2003. He served his country as a Marine Embassy Guard in Mexico during the Korean War.
Mr. Yager is survived by his daughters, Pamela (Daniel Pilgrim) Perkins & Karen Davis; sons, Paul (Warren Barlow) Yager & Norman (Constance) Yager Jr.; brother, Larry (Joan) Walker; sister, MaryAnn Carol Kosier; and grandchildren, Norman III, Bobbi Jean, Abigail, Quinn, Emilly & Nicholas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna J. Yager; parents; and brother, Arnold Yager.
Graveside service will be held Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11:00 am at Riverside Cemetery, 1595 West River Rd., Maumee. Military honors will be presented.
The family is requesting no flowers be sent. Instead please make memorial donations to Hospice Care Of Middletown, 3909 Central Ave., Middletown, Ohio 45044.
