Ollie James Davis, 80, of Franklin Township, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013, at his residence. He was born in Wolfe County, Kentucky on March 18, 1933 to parents Carew and Essie (Back) Davis.
Jim was a graduate of Monroe High School and earned his BS in Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. He worked for A.K. Steel Corp for 43 years, retiring as Senior Mechanical Engineer in 1996. He served his country in the United States Army. Jim enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Armco Golf League at Weatherwax Golf Course.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Mildred Fay Hagins; children, Trina (Scott) Spradling, Corlis Barrett & Greg (Lori) Davis; grandchildren, Jarod (Jill) Spradling, Krystal (Brian) Spradling, Jessica Davis, Jacob Davis, Brian (Deanna) Bush & Tim (Keli) Bush; great grandson, Gabriel Spradling; sisters-in-law, Leona Hurst & Judy Bush; brothers-in-law, James B. Hagins, Hardin (Paulene) Hagins & Adrian (Carol) Hagins; and many loving nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Arnold Davis; & sister, Earlene Barksdale.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Pastor James Setser officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:00 - 2:00 pm. Interment will be at Fairmound Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
