Oscar Leo Carrozza, 84, beloved husband of Velma “Peggy” Carrozza for 53 years, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He was born in Middletown on March 20, 1933 to parents Carmine and Rose Ellen (Day) Carrozza.
In addition to his wife and parents, Oscar was preceded in death by his siblings, Sam Carozza, Charlene Willis, Umberto Carrozza, John Carrozza, Anthony Carrozza, Dorothy Barker, Raymond Carrozza and Judy Carder.
He is survived by his three children, Terri (Bill) Reece of Monroe, Tonya (John) Moryl of Trenton and Mark (Lisa) Carrozza of Monroe; six grandchildren, Megan Satterfield, Hannah, Ramsey & Reegan Sibert, Danny & Sophie Moryl, Marisa Carrozza; step granddaughter, Tara Reece; four great grandchildren; and his brother, Chris Carrozza.
Oscar retired from Coca-Cola after 28 years, and enjoyed a long work history that included JJ Bowling Lanes, US Security, and Wilson Distributing. He was particularly proud of the time he served as Court Baliff for the City of Trenton and Village of Gratis. Oscar was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the Navy. He was a charter member of the Sons of Italy. He volunteered with Trenton Knothole, the Boy Scouts of America, and the Trenton Citizen Patrol. He attended Breiel Boulevard First Church of God.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 10:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., Middletown with Pastor Wes Duff officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
