Palmer "Mac" McCreary, 84, of Franklin Township, died Thursday, October 6, 2016, at his home. He was born on July 10, 1932 to parents Conway McCreary and Ella Ree (Brooks) McCreary Speers.
Palmer worked as a crane operator for Armco Steel Corp for 35 years, retiring in 1989. He served his country in the United States Navy and was a member of V.F.W #3809. He was also a member of Towne Blvd. Church of God. Mac was an avid sports fan, especially UK basketball & the Cincinnati Reds.
Mr. McCreary is survived by his daughter, Deborah (John) Jena; brothers, Jim (Sandy) Speers & Bob (Judy) Speers; sister, Jo Ann Daniels; grandchildren, Kaity (Ian) Ashcraft & Kelly Jena; step grandchild, Kathleen (Nate) Bechtel; great grandchildren, Alyson & Jacob Ashcraft; and step great grandchildren, Jackson & Connor Bechtel.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Sue McCreary in 2013; parents; and sister, Yvonne Rockwell.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 10, 2016 at 11:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am. Interment will be at Springboro Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
